"scholarships" to cover the cost
of the luncheon meeting. To
qualify, an applicant must be a
high school, college, or
university student who is
interested in the United Nations

Famke Janssen
As a Goodwill Ambassador for Integrity, Ms. Janssen
uses her celebrity status to raise awareness about the
chronic problems of human trafficking, illicit drugs, and
governmental corruption.
The theme of Ms. Janssen’s visit to Oklahoma will be

Dr. Irvine teaches courses on Religion and Violence, Religion, Nationalism and
Ethnic Conflict, Women and World Politics, Women, Religion and Secularism,
and Feminist Theory. Her research interests focus on gender, democratization
and ethno-religious conflicts worldwide.
Dr. Irvine's research has been supported by the American Council of Learned
Societies, The U.S. Fulbright Program, the National Council for Soviet and East
European Research, the International Research and Exchanges Board, the
Fulbright-Hays Program, the University of Oklahoma, and Harvard University.

Dr. Zach Messitte
Dr. Robert Henry Cox
On the OU faculty since 1989, Cox is an
Associate Professor in the School of International
and Area Studies. Professor Cox teaches classes
at the graduate and undergraduate levels in
comparative politics, specifically focusing on
European Politics. In recent years he has
developed classes that examine processes of
globalization.
He currently serves as the first Director of the
School of International and Area Studies at the
University of Oklahoma . Dr. Cox is President and
member of the Board of Directors for the United
Nations Association of the United States,
Oklahoma City Chapter.
