Each Spring -- usually in April -- members and friends of
our chapter convene for our annual meeting.  We always
have a luncheon program featuring a notable speaker.  It
is also a time to conduct some necessary business of our
chapter.

Here are some highlights of several Annual Spring
Meetings that we have hosted in recent years:
w
Our program featured
Eleanor Roosevelt
Portrayed by Erma Stewart,
speaking on the topic:
“Equal Dignity Without
Discrimination –
The Birth of the United Nations”

A silent auction, held in
conjunction with the meeting,
raised a total of $566 for the UNA-USA’s Adopt-a-
Minefield program.  During the meeting, the members
of our chapter recognized the winner of this year’s
High School Essay Contest, Ana Maria Diaz-Vargas.

Additionally, we presented a special award to Mr.
Bob Lemon for his outstanding efforts to support the
involvement of young people in the activities of the
United Nations Association.
