A Message from Robert Cox
January, 2009 (UNA-OKC)-- I am writing to offer you best wishes for the new year.
We look forward to 2009 as another eventful year -- one that offers great promise for
better relationships between the United States and the United Nations, and better
cooperation to resolve troubling disputes.

For our local chapter, 2008 was a very successful year.  Our programming
continued to expand.  Lowell Adams' grant from the Oklahoma Humanities Council
allowed our group to place United Nations videos in high schools across the metro area.
Indeed, the report of how many times these videos have been viewed in the last year
gave us a strong sense that the message is getting out to the younger generation.
Finally, under the leadership of Jalal
Daneshfar, our High School Essay
Contest has 25 entrants from High
Schools around the state.  The
winner of the contest will be featured
at our Spring Luncheon, and we will
invite all entrants to attend.  This
project is a great way to reach the
next generation of leaders.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, I would like to invite you to become involved in the programming we are
planning for this year.  Our next large event will be the annual Spring luncheon, scheduled for 18 April 2009.  As
plans develop, we will send you more information about this, or you can always stay in touch by visiting our
webpage....

Also, I would like to ask you to help us to keep in touch with you.  Please send us your preferred contact
information, especially your email address.  We want to know what you are doing and help make sure we do our
best to keep you fully informed of the events and opportuniteis with the UNA-USA of OKC.

Hope your year is off to a great start.  Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the group, or
suggestions for things we might be doing.

Sincerely,

Robert Cox
