Our chapter promotes the care and protection of
children through our support of UNICEF, the United
Nation's Children's Fund.

We are proud to be supporters of the Unicef Trick-or-Treat campaign. For
nearly 60 years, the
US Fund for Unicef has sponsored this nation-wide
program. Since 1950, children in the United States have shown their
commitment to improving the lives of their peers around the world by filling our
famous orange box with change for UNICEF on Halloween.

In recent years, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF has evolved from traditional
door-to-door collections on Halloween night into a nationwide education
campaign. Students learn about the needs of children worldwide and raise
money on their behalf through a variety of service activities.

In recent years, more than $4 million has been raised annually -- mostly by
young people volunteering through their schools, community groups,
faith-based and other service organizations.

To learn more about the Trick or Treat campaign, see the website of the
U.S.
Fund for Unicef.

Long-time volunteers Larry
Eberhardt and Bob Elliott help to
distribute "Trick or Treat for Unicef"
boxes at the Global Oklahoma
festival at Rose State College.  Each
year, our chapter distributes
hundreds of boxes -- giving
concerned individuals an opportunity
to collect funds for Unicef.
